My new book ‘Drought Country’ has just been published by CSIRO Publishing
If anyone is hungry for a little reading, my book ‘Drought Country’ — which details the environmental, agricultural, social, and economic impacts of the worst Australian droughts from the pre-European settlement era to the “Black Summer” of 2019-2020 — has just been published.
It’s been something of a passion project of mine. Growing up and farming in semi-arid Australia, and after conducting years of research on drought ecology, I felt compelled to do some writing! 📖
So, if you are interested in the 300-year history of ecological destruction and suffering of both humans and animals caused by drought, heatwaves, dust storms, and related disasters, then you might find something of interest.
